Journalists at the Walkley Media Conference all a Twitter...

August's Zoe Warne, along with Renee Barnes, freelance journalist and Lecturer in online journalism at RMIT, presented 'Social Media for Freelancers' at the 2010 Walkley Media Conference. The workshop explored strategies for freelancers to utilise Social Media technologies to promote themselves, build networks and to find sources and story ideas.

The four-day conference sought to examine the tools and skills you need to thrive in the changing media landscape. The speaker line-up of industry luminaries - including the likes of Jay Rosen (NYU), Kerry O'Brien (The 7.30 Report), Malcolm Turnbull (member for Wentworth) and James Tuckerman (Editor, Australian Anthill) - was enough to leave one star-struck.
