August people (known internally as "Augustines") come from a range of disciplines and backgrounds, including marketing and advertising, software and systems development, graphic, multimedia and interactive design specialties, management consulting, publicity and even logistics management.

Zoë Warne

Agency Co-founder & Director, Creative Services

Emerging from a background in graphic design and multimedia as one of the first ever graduates of Swinburne University's Bachelor of Multimedia (Media Studies), Zoë extended her repertoire to marketing and communications and has managed projects for a variety of clients, both SME's and household name blue-chips. Zoë heads up August's Creative Services team and is a valued contributor to 'big picture' strategy and planning sessions, with the dexterity to provide 'hands-on' support and assistance in project implementation and delivery.

In recent times Zoë has been profiled by BRW and has had articles published in AdNews and Publish Magazine, she is also a regular co-host on ABC 774 radio’s Conversation Hour.

Daniel Banik

Agency Co-founder & Director, Marketing Services

Bringing a wealth of analytical and marketing experience, Daniel heads up the Marketing Services team. With a background in marketing and operations, Daniel offers solutions that exploit the full potential of new and emerging technologies. His expertise extends to his appointment as the Victorian Vice-President of the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA); the peak national industry-body representing the interactive media and digital content sectors in Australia.

Matt Agar

Manager, Technical Services

Matt is the Technical Services Manager at August. He is the chief architect of our network and application-development infrastructure, as well as taking a lead role in designing, developing and managing sophisticated web-based solutions for our clients.

Prior to joining August in 2005, Matt honed his development skills working on large scale web-based projects with leading UK online agency Technophobia (A 2006 NMA Magazine 'Top 100' New Media Agency).He graduated with a Bachelor of Multimedia (Software Development) from Swinburne University, Melbourne.

We love Matt. “He makes complex things work”.

Jason Massarotto

Senior Creative

Jason contributes a decade of experience in advertising, branding, design and photography. A double major in Photography and Visual Communication from Curtin University of Technology, WA, Jason has worked in commercial photography before moving to creative design. He worked with Gold Corporation, Perth and other niche design studios before joining 303, the multi–award winning full service agency in Perth.

Jason’s career highlights include the rebranding of Red Rooster and Cash Converters, incorporating integrated communications and media spanning digital, print and retail branding. Jason received honourable mentions from Australia Post Direct Mail Awards for the IKEA and Western Force (Rugby WA) campaigns.

Prudence Jones

Senior Creative

Prudence comes to August with nearly fifteen years of experience in design, direct marketing and advertising. Awarded a BA (Honours) in Graphic Design from Swinburne University of Technology. Prudence has worked on leading brands including the launch of both Melbourne Grand Prix and Crown Casino, as well as the likes of NAB and Telstra.

A finalist in the prestigious John Caples International Awards in New York, she has innate aesthetic sensibilities, and is alert to new and emerging creative trends — and is enjoying extending her capabilities into the digital arena.

Justin Morris

Web Developer

A prodigious talent snapped up straight out of university, Justin has led the charge for many of our larger programming projects. He enjoys working with cutting-edge technologies and exploring new methods of design and development. His innovative approach translates into awe inspiring results. He won the Best Production Studio Award for three consecutive years while completing a Bachelor of Multimedia Systems at Monash University. He is an expert with HTML, CSS and PHP, and an advocate of Python and the Django web-framework.

Kylie Liggins

Senior Producer

Kylie Liggins is August’s Senior Producer and brings with her extensive digital experience in the UK and Europe. She has worked with the award–winning Magic Lantern Productions, and managed a diverse range of digital and cross–platform solutions; spanning education, TV, CGI and rich media. She has also worked in marketing and online project management with the ABC in Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. The depth of her experience across various media and geographical locations, makes her a great asset to the August team.

Melissa Pillay

Design & Production Coordinator

With qualifications in Advertising (Holmesglen Institute of TAFE) and Multimedia Applications (Monash University), Melissa is an all rounder with impressive organisational and time management skills — she makes the studio run like clockwork. Foremost, as August’s production guru she provides valuable support across a range of areas in the studio, including design, production and resources co–ordination, as well as account management. Capable of stepping in and managing a project at any stage of development, Melissa thrives on variety, working with a number of high profile clients from industries as diverse as education, fashion design and medical research.

Rebecca Camilleri

Communications & Copywriting

Rebecca transforms the driest of rambles into gripping succinct copy that jumps from the page (or screen). From direct marketing and e–newsletters to speech writing, she is an articulate and experienced communications expert. With over fifteen years experience in journalism and corporate communications, she is responsible for August’s internal and external communications strategy, as well as providing copywriting and editing services to August’s clients; editing numerous content–rich websites for a range of August clients. Prior to joining August in February 2008, Rebecca worked on communications projects for well known organisations such as BHP Billiton and NAB.

David Baddock

Search Engine Marketing Services (SEO)

David holds a Bachelor Degree in Computing (Information Systems/Computer Science and Software Development) from Deakin University. While at The Just Group he spearheaded various Point of Sale related projects with regard to both technical and project management aspects. He was also involved in The Just Group Gift Card Project, the introduction of the Peter Alexander brand in to the USA (successfully opening three stores in Los Angeles) as well as the complete business integration of the Smiggle brand into The Just Group. His technical capabilities bring a depth of knowledge to August’s emerging Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) service capabilities.

Charith Welikala

Web Development Intern

Charith holds tertiary qualifications from institutions in the UK, Sri Lanka and Australia.

Multi-skilled and multi-talented, he performs the full spectrum of web related tasks, including design and layout, graphics creation and optimisation, server-side programming (primarily PHP), MySQL databases, standards-compliant XHTML and CSS, and testing. He is also known to be a passionate photographer, dark chocolate enthusiast and devotee of classic cars.

Kate Lanyon

PHP Developer

Kate Lanyon comes to us from HR Solutions Consultancy, iedex, where she developed one of their flagship products. She lends her technical expertise to a range of August projects and holds a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) from The University of Melbourne, plus MySQL Developer Certification. Her talents transcend the technical and extend to creating violin arrangements. She also has her sights set on learning Japanese, trying out for roller derby and writing some iPhone apps.
